The idea for the TosiT database was developed within the framework of the research activities of the project "eSociety Bodensee 2020 - Open Social Innovation in the Lake Constance Region". This is a cooperation project between the Zeppelin University gGmbh in Friedrichshafen, the University of Liechtenstein and the University of Applied Sciences in St. Gallen (from September 2020: University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland). The project, funded by the International University of Lake Constance (IBH), started in July 2012 and was completed at the end of 2014. The TosiT database (http://www.tosit.org) contains systematically recorded (event) formats, methods and tools, such as specific services and applications that enable, promote and accelerate open social innovation. This free database also contains specific application examples. The TosiT database is structured according to the following tools: ideas, problem collection, problem solving, design, innovation management, open data, questions of the future as well as common Web 2.0 and social media applications. In the IBH project "eSociety Bodensee 2020", exemplary projects were also brought together. Since then, it has been continuously maintained by the Zeppelin University.
